What's to like about Miami?
Sorry for the blog blackout, but was away on a mini-vacation in Miami and had no access to a computer.
OK, I am lying. I could probably have had access to a computer, but I chose not to. So sue me. I can't remember the last time I had that many days away from a computer!
I must admit that it's been nice having so many people send me e-mail asking where the heck I've been! That's how I know you are reading my blog!

Miami was fun. Here's a list of my favorite things about Miami:
- Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine. Non-stop sunshine. Have I mentioned the sunshine?
- A clothing optional beach. (Located at Haulover State Park, which is at the Northern tip of Miami Beach.) I am a nudist at heart...just love to frolick in the sand and surf in my birthday suit.
- Emeril's brand new Miami Beach restaurant. (Located in the Loew's St. Moritz hotel). Awesome wine list, gorgeous atmosphere, delicious, creative food, and the most wonderful service of any restaurant I've ever gone to. (And nobody said BAM! to us, not even once.)
- Palm trees. I just love 'em...don't know why. It's probably because I grew up without them. I remember being equally enthralled with the cacti in Arizona.
- Art Deco architecture -- it's just so cool! All of those rounded corners and pastel colors and the nightly neon fest! Miami's Art Deco district is a treat to explore.
- Island life -- in Miami Beach, it seems as though everybody is on vacation. I guess it's hard not to feel that way when you are surrounded by miles of beaches on one side and the beautiful Biscayne Bay on the other side.
- The Miami skyline -- breathtaking! Especially when you are speeding by in a convertible and can appreciate from a passenger's point of view.
- The Atlantis Building. (Or as my husband describes it, the building with the hole in the middle of it. As in "why do you want to drive for miles just to see a building with a hole in it?") The building was made famous by Miami Vice. It's a condominium building and there's a hot tub in the hole!
- The Everglades Alligator Farm. OK, it's not IN Miami -- it's about an hour away, but it was really cool. We saw the alligators getting fed and took an airboat ride -- quintessential southern Florida vacation activities.
